Toys for Tots, founded in 1947 by the United States Marine Corps, has distributed more than 272 million toys to 133 million children throughout the country. The local Marine Corps Reserve Unit in Norfolk has kicked off the 2004 "Toys for Tots" Campaign. This is the 58th year for the Toys for Tots Program. Each year, thousands of under-privileged children in the Tidewater Area, who would not otherwise have received a toy, benefit from the Toys for Tots Program.

The Tidewater Division has proudly donated electric/wooden train sets and money to this program continuously since 2001.

There is a collection table for new unwrapped toys manned by the Marines at the show. Anyone desiring to support the program is encouraged to do so by donating new unwrapped toys at the collection table located by the main entrance to the train show.
