Tidewater Division Organizational Scheme:
The Board of Directors consisting of seven elected members of the Division conducts the business, planning, and operation of the Tidewater Division. Elections are held every January at the Division’s annual business meeting.
The Board of Directors elects the Division officers and these positions are as follows: Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Timekeeper, Paymaster and Member at Large (3)
There are also several volunteer committee positions that everyone is invited to participate in. These committees are: membership, newsletter editor, webmaster, hospitality, annual show, clinics, contests, publicity, yearly convention, public displays, module coordinator and achievement program coordinator.
Everyone is encouraged to attend the scheduled meetings and other activities throughout the year. We hold our meetings 6 times a year, normally at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. Check the Meetings page to verify the location. We sponsor the Tidewater Model Train Show and Sale every year at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. In January we have a member’s only auction at our annual business meeting. At our meetings we present slides and videos on model and real railroads, clinics on scenery, structures, weathering, car building, electrical wiring, and much more. Modelers are asked to share their expertise to help other model railroaders.
